Island Lake Connector Trail Opened on June 8, 2019, the 4-mile Island Lake Connector Trail is the first segment of trail that will someday link the Mike Levine Lakelands Trail State Park with the Island Lake Pathway. Friends of the Lakelands Trail and Friends of Island Lake Recreation Area are hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony dedicated to the new Island Lake Trail Connector opening to the public at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, located in Green Oak Village Place, near the mall’s kiosk by JCPenney.
